Walk For Life
Whether it’s your friend, a family member, or neighbor, we all know someone who has been touched by cancer. Many of us are concerned about this disease and want to do something about it. That’s why Melrose Students will take part in the American Cancer Society Relay For LifeĀ®, and would like you to join, too. As in years past, our Mrs. Przymylski will chaperone the grade seven students at the June 7-8 overnight event.
Relay For Life brings together the whole community and helps raise funds for the fight against cancer. At the event, students camp out overnight, walk around the track, and meet others who care about this cause. They’ll pay tribute to cancer survivors and caregivers, and honor those who lost the fight through a moving luminaria ceremony. During the event, students realize the impact of their efforts and how they can personally make an impact on their community.
Please consider supporting this fine cause by joining the team, making a donation, or puchashing a luminary. Last year Melrose students reached the Bronz Level of team fundraising achievement by raising over $5,000.
Having participated for eight years, Mrs. Przymylski says, “I can truly say Relay For Life is unlike anything else you’ll ever do. It’s a night full of fun, hope, and remembrance.” To find out more about Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society, please conact Ellen Przymylski at (845)279-2406.
