The Melrose School

Welcome to 2009-2010

Welcome to a New School Year!

With enthusiasm and anticipation, we begin a new school year. We welcome almost 30 new families to Melrose this year and new students from PK3 all the way through Grade 8. The faculty met for its
traditional in-service planning last week. In addition to basic planning for the year, we also set goals for the year.

Thanks to a group of students under the supervision of Mr. Burns and Mrs. Dennen, the front grounds are looking marvelous. They weeded, pruned, and planted. In fact, inside and out, Melrose is ready for you.

Festivities begin with our all-school picnic on Tuesday, September 8th. Come any time between 5 and 7 p.m. Meet new families, catch-up with old friends, and enjoy social chatter with the teachers. It looks like the weather will permit, so we will be down on the field. We will open the chain so that you may drive down. (For our new families, there is an unpaved driveway north of the school (down the hill) – it will be marked with balloons to help you find it.)

Wednesday, September 9th , is our first day of school – a full day. 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. Afterschool care is available starting on
the 9th, all other after school activities will begin the week of Sept. 14th.
